Plasticized gypsum was invented in the 1990's and has a long history of successful use in the oil and gas industry, in frac tanks, waterproofing applications and linings in seriously harsh environments. The coatings have been used on ships at sea as traffic membranes with salt-spray exposure and constant vehicle traffic. This material WAY outperforms traditional epoxies in adhesion and elongation. It generally requires less surface prep, sticks to everything and will not pop loose. It's flexible, will not shatter and can take some movement of the substrate. It's tenacious bond, tough wearability and superior chemical resistance makes this material perfect for industrial flooring.
